98 Games, October 2026

The 98 Games returned to Sydney Swans HQ, with 600 athletes across 150 teams from more than 50 gyms nationwide. Here’s how the second edition played out, from the format and the field to the podium.

The 98 Games returned to Sydney Swans HQ, bringing together 600 athletes across 150 teams from more than 50 gyms nationwide. The second edition kept the same field size and lifted the standard of the athlete experience.

On Saturday 17 October, the second 98 Games was held at the Royal Hall of Industries, Sydney Swans HQ. 150 teams and 600 competitors took to the floor, from first-timers in the Rookie Division to professional athletes in the Elite Division

Built for the Team

The 98 Games tests teams of four across three divisions: Rookie, Intermediate and Elite, each competing in Male, Female or Mixed categories. The structure gives first-time competitors a genuine entry point and gives seasoned athletes a genuine test.

This year's field reflected that range. The floor ran an almost perfect 50/50 split of male and female athletes, and Rookie female teams more than doubled Rookie male teams. Teams travelled from Canberra, Melbourne and Tamworth. More than 50 gyms were represented, and two in every three teams came from outside the 98 network. LA Nation brought the largest contingent, with 52 athletes on the floor.

That reach matters. The Games were never designed as a members-only event. They were designed as an open arena, built on the same standard that runs through every 98 session, and offered to anyone willing to prepare for it.

The Format

Competition day ran on a 98-minute waterfall across three arenas: Strength, Conditioning and Hybrid Mixed Modality, with transitions in between. Six events in total, each drawn from a line of the 98 Training app: Strength, Capacity, Performance, Groundwork and Hybrid, followed by The Final.

Simple on paper. Uncompromising in execution. There are no shortcuts in a format like this. It rewards the teams that have done the work in the months before they arrive.

Manifestation Part 3: Remove Obstacles

The third instalment in our Manifestation Series shifts focus from vision to action - tackling the internal and external obstacles that stand between you and your goals. It explores how subconscious limiting beliefs form early in life, how to bring them into conscious awareness and rewrite them, and why preparing for inevitable friction points is what separates those who achieve their goals from those who simply dream about them.
