Resistance is the second component of the five processes of resilience and is the process where we choose to push back against the pressure from external forces that are being imposed on us and resist their impact.
Our ability to resist is both determined through the development of our individual capacity to resist this pressure, as well as the resources we have access to around us that provide us with extra capacity.
If we exceed the capacity of our internal systems to resist, then we may need to leverage the appropriate external systems to provide the necessary increase to avoid our capacity from being breached.
